Be will run on either a Mac or PC.  It should support most of your existing
hardware although sound card support is iffy.  The new version 4.0, which
premiers next week at Comdex, is suppose to support Plug and Play software.
If you've never used BE before it is fast as hell, and 4.0 is suppose to be
close to 45% faster that 3.1 which I am running now.   Be includes your
basic software such as a browser, mail program, c/c++ compiler, and source
code to all the included programs and demos.  However, the BeOS itself is
not open-source.

I'm not trying to dis the purpose of this mailing list - I know it's for
Linux not Be, I was just wondering if anyone was interested in it.
