dear plugs

i have RH6.0 and for some reason am not able to mount /dev/fd0.
it gives me errors like:

ext2-fs - unable to read superblock on device (/dev/fd0), wrong fs type
or bad option or too many mounted file systems
status=50, fdc_busy=1
floppy0:floppy timeout called
end_request:I/O error,dev 2:00(floppy), sector 0
FAT bread failed

I tried changing the fs type to different types but i keep getting the
same ghastly error. i tried reading the next superblock on a different sector
but it didn't work. has anybody gone through this or knows how to deal
with it ?.

thank you in advance for your time
