As far as bandwidth goes, I haven't seen a problem.  I'm on the dorm
ethernet and I can get 50kB/sec+ just about any time of day, usually 100+,
and late at night I've gotten almost 430kB/sec (usually 200+) doing debian
potato upgrades.  Except for the occasional router being pulled into a
black hole for a few minutes my connection is great.  Traceroute is ugly
though (outgoing through alter.net... eww... fortunately not the same
route incoming).
