Train an army of penguins, strap remote-controlled missiles to their
backs, and prepare them for an invasion of Redmond.  I suppose we'll have
to convince Batman to let it all happen though...

I'm not real concerned at this point.  I haven't seen a lot going on here
as far as the microsoft deals except MS stuff is $5 and the university
wasted money.  It'll be a cold day in hell before unix goes quietly here.
There are lots of unix boxen around (SunOS/Solaris, Irix, Linux, *BSD)
supported by quite a few people.  I recall Spafford not being real fond of
Microsoft or NT.  I do believe he knocked Microsoft during one of my
visits. :)  No, unix is not threatened here.  At least not any time soon.  
Should that occur (always have a plan B!), maybe the discovery channel
would be interested in funding our penguin training.  Nothing brings in
ratings like a documentary of militant penguins launching explosives at a
corporate compound on live TV.
