I have been useing Doctor Linux. It has a brief history of linux, tells
about a couple different distros, i think it tells you how to install
various distros, and has an archive of HOW-TOs in the back half of the
book. I have the 6th edition, but I think the 7th edition is out. With
each new edition, they update the HOW-TOs and maybe add a few extra FYI
chapters. It does have a section on administration, setting up user
accounts, lilo, X, etc. It is like a $35 book and I got it at Borders (if
that store is in this city).
