The other objection to these things is that anyone who could really
beat up a machine would be far better served by exploiting the found
hacks than to turn 'em in for the prize.

I saw something on some site or another, I think Deja, that did that:
did a head-to-head with Solaris, NT, Linux, Be, MacOS and OS/2. I
don't recall how it went.
