Hey gang,
After an intense period of testing, Debian 2.2 has just been released. Big
highlights include:
Libc 2.1.3 (finally)
GNOME 1.0.56
over 1200 new packages from the last release, including openssh, zope,
gnapster, postfix, xmms, and many many more!
a new network configuration system, including multihomed host
better PAM support
Much better I18n support

The news is on slashdot, the official announcement is at:
http://www.ids.org.au/ian/potato-announcement.txt

I know a great many RedHat users who thought that it would never be
released. I've been using the frozen tree for some time, and had no
problems with it whatsoever. For a while, I even rode the unstable tree
(all the while remarking how stable it really was). If you're already
running debian, 'apt-get dist-upgrade' away! If not, well, never mind. You
should be.

Enjoy,

unofficial Debian proselytizer.
