For you CS majors out there (I'm not sure how they'd go about doing
someone from ECE that has equivalent courses (compilers, os)), there is
a research opportunity doing router stuff for Linux. Here is the blurb
that I got:
> This is part of a project for building a programmable and extensible
> router in Linux. (Significant pieces of the architecture have been
> built.) The student will implement C++ software components in
> Linux on a Pentium II/III platform, under the guidance of existing
> graduate student project members. Some system level programming will be
> required.
> Desired background: interest in software design and implementation,
> knowledge of C++, CS 352, CS 354
> Preferred experience: familiarity with Linux or a similar OS (like
> Solaris, FreeBSD, NetBSD, Ultrix, AIX, ...); system programming
> experience

The research is with Prof. David Yau.
