Boot off a slackware boot disk
(i.e. download rawrite.exe and base.i from ftp.slackware.com)
when you get to the lilo prompt of the floppy type "mount root=/dev/hda1"
(or whichever is your linux partition) let it boot, run /sbin/lilo -P this
should fix corrupt partiion tables. Since you moved the linear and
sector/head/cylineder addresses around with Partition Magic.
reboot machine to check. You may have to run lilo -U and then lilo again
to reinstall.
good luck, dont know why, but a lot of times this doesnt work after you
have corrupted the MBR with such said utilities.
