[PLUG] hardware hacks?

Seeing the message about the serial port routines
reminded me that I need to figure out how to use
the spiffy Sony conferncing camera I bought awhile
ago (to be aimed at my dogs or the Engineering
Mall...I might have to buy some more).
Anyone want to take a crack at figuring out how
to control it? It has a DIN serial port. I have
a cable with a connector that fits - not sure
about the pins being routed to the DB-25 correctly.
I also have the pinout for the serial port and a
MS Windows program that can supposedly be used to
control the camera.
I'm willing to pay...oh, let's say $100 for
someone to figure out how to send commands to it
(from a reasonable OS) to pan/tilt/zoom/focus.
It might be incredibly easy. It might take a
*lot* of work. I don't know, but if you have the
background to attack the problem and want a crack
at it, let me know.
Thanks.
