hi, i'm still working on getting my hda removed and hdc swapped over.. the
problem i'm having is that i can start from a boot disk and specify
/dev/hda1 for the root partition (fstab thinks it's still on hdc), but it
stops during the boot process because it can find swap on /dev/hdc3
(there's no disk at hdc at all now..).. it drops me into single-user mode,
and then i want to edit /etc/fstab to use /dev/hda* instead of /dev/hdc*
the problem is that i can't get it to let me write changes.. mount says
that the partition is mounted rw, and i've even tried remounting as rw
just to be sure, but it still can't write..
i know i could put the old hda back in and make the change and it *should*
work, but if it doesn't it looks like i won't be able to change it back!
any ideas?
thanks,
peter
