Well, I would always want to assume so, but I am a bit blinded by hatred
of Macrohard. I can say that when it comes to mp3 compression (more than
one at a time), my Win95 box gets DESTROYED by my Linux box. However,
this isn't an apples to apples comparison: 495 MHz K6-3 on the Linux box,
300 MHz PII on the Win95, SCSI vs. EIDE as well. However, the Win95 box
has a hard time playing Winamp while ripping a CD and moving a window on
the screen, but my Linux box will happily encode 4 files while playing
XMMS without a hitch, I can even play a very slow game of Xboing! It
would definitely be wise to have a pre-determined demo of something
superior though...marketing, you have to hate it.
