[PLUG] Linux Expo/Demo/whatever

Only problem with using quake as a demo:  the Mesa 3-d library
for linux is not nearly as optimized as DirectX under windows. 
The retail version of quakeIII consistently runs about 7 fps
slower under linux than windows, all settings being equal.  

The good news:  Mesa in particular and 3-d graphics for linux in
general are progressing extremely rapidly.  Mesa 3.1 blows the
socks off 3.0; just wait for 3.2 and 3.3, which are in the
pipe...

That's one of my favorite aspects of linux; it's so dynamic and
exciting.  Nothing stays stagnant for long.  Perhaps this is a 
point new users would agree with as well?
