[PLUG] emacs problem

i'm encountering a strange problem with emacs.. when i run it on mentor
from an xterm, whenever i hit the right shift key it inserts a '*'.. it
doesn't do this on emacs on my machine, or when i give the -nw flag..
anybody know why?
