Yes, and there is a reason they don't generally compare. If they
compare/contrast products they give the competition free advertising and
they may lose sales to the good enough but cheaper stuff, or to better and
cheaper... while we can pretty much agree that Linux is Mostly better than
WinX contrasting and comparing the two would
A) make us seem like MS hating freaks(we may be, but we don't want to come
off like that)
B) Make people say, if I can do 80 - 90 percent with windows and it's
free(It comes on the machine, to most people it's free) why bother?
C) Make us whore ourselves out to put linux in the best possible light so
that we avoid B.
D) Something else bad I haven't thought of yet.
I would suggest that we break it down so:
Alpha) Linux in High performance configurations(Beowulf, Sparc, Alpha,
etc.)
Beta) Linux in embedded type applications(Routers, stereo componants,
handhelds, etc)
Delta) Linux in the Office(GNOMEOffice, KOffice, StarOffice, etc.)
Gamma) Linux gaming(commercial and Free)
Omega) Linux Distributions(Who everyone is and what their goals are)
Tau) Servers and general Networking(Apache, Samba, Sendmail, etc.)
Phi) Linux in the home(Browsing, mp3s, etc.)
Pi) Miscellaneous stuff I may have missed.
Zeta) Catherine's fine, fine, ass :-)
Did I miss anything?
