The version of lilo that comes with Mandrake 7.1 (0.21.4.3) does support
booting from partitions beyond the 2/4/8GB limit. I've got a 15GB win2k
partition at the front of the disk (need M$ for work, unfortunately),
followed by a 5GB linux mandrake partition.

Now that I think about it, though, I'm not sure abou that. I'm not using
LILO in the MBR to boot linux; I'm using w2k's bootloader. LILO is loaded
on the linux partition itself -- Win2K's bootloader has no problem booting
linux on that partition.

I thought about messing around with that, then I thought "why bother?"
LILO is doing the job already. However, it would be nice to not have
to recreate the bootsect.lnx everytime you make a minor change, as you
have to with LILO.

I would like to figure out how Mandrake created their boot screens on
the install CD when you boot from it. Seeing tux while watching the
service's load is pretty neat! ;)

Take care!
