[PLUG] upgrading to rpm 4

Has anyone successfully upgraded from rpm 3 to rpm 4 either on Redhat
or Mandrake?  Specifically Mandrake.  rpm4 is part of the Mandrake
cooker stuff, but not in the 7.2 beta 2 on csociety.  I'm just
wondering how much breakage there is by upgrading.  Does it conver the
rpm database to the new version safely???  I don't want to screw my
machine, and it's difficult to uninstall an rpm if rpm is broken. 
hehe.
