[PLUG] Mandrake kinks question 1

I don't think Xconfigurator will work.  That is for XFree 3x.  You are
running XFree 4.

Um, make sure that xfs (X Font Server) is installed and running.  It
should be, but verify it.

Next, do (as root) 'XFree86 -configure'.  This will create a new
XF86Config file.  Put this in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 (notice the
'-4').  

The other problem your may be having is X doesn't know what to run so
it starts up, doesn't see anything to run, and then dies.
