I've recently had problems with my FreeBSD system in this
area. Sometimes, it'll work like this.

Trial 1:
telnet 192.168.3.1

FreeBSD/i386 (www.indianaufies.org) (ttyp1)

(long wait, nothing ever happens)

Trial 2:
telnet 192.168.3.1
Connection closed by foreign host.

All odd trials are like #1, all even trials are like #2. The box works
otherwise; console logins work great. I can't figure out why it does this
sometimes and not other times.
