[PLUG] Lost the ability to 'su'

This is just strange.  I seemed to have lost the ability
to su to any other user.  I can still login as any user
through SSH or the console but when I attempt to su to
root it tells me "wrong password".  My kernel log states:
"PAM_unix[3265]: authentication failure; phaedo(uid=501) ->
root for system-auth service"

This was just working yesterday, I don't know what could've
broken it.  Any ideas?
