I don't recognize that file, this is what the j2sdk1.3 package
(Blackdown's stuff is apt-able for debian, see below) installed for my
debian mozilla package. I use nightlies in my home directory, but that's
just a symlink to this:

lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           44 Oct 26 22:18
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/javaplugin.so ->
../../j2sdk1.3/jre/plugin/i386/javaplugin.so

My mozilla is fairly quiet on startup, it just prints out a bunch of
"registering plugin blah java blah mime type blah" when I enable java.

If you apt it it should have everything you need. I install the mozilla
package even though I use nightlies instead. Here is the sources.list
entry for blackdown java:

#Java
deb http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/devel/lang/java/blackdown.org/debian woody non-free
