Windows will ALWAYS blow away whatever is on the MBR. You should
either:

a) make a boot floppy for Linux, install windows, boot from the
     floppy and restore lilo/grub/whatever.

b) install windows, boot off of the install program for Mandrake
     and restore lilo/grub/whatever.

c) throw away your windows CD, use the space on your IDE disk
for things like "compressed media files" or digital video
editing, or maybe even write a book on why one should NOT
     use windows EVER.
