Wasn't Pluto the god of Hades? Plato (see
http://phd.evansville.edu/plato.htm) was the philosopher after whom
``platonic love'' is named. That shows up a weakness of modern english:
we have confused lust, love and friendship. The Greeks had three words
for the three concepts which we have confounded under the name love, and
have then tried to separate again with adjectives such as plutonic or
platonic. The Greeks used:

(from http://www.uh.edu/~cfreelan/courses/platoniclove.html)
eros: ----- erotic love, sexual desire, strong attraction
agape: ----- affectionate love, in Bible, God's love
philia: ----- friendship, friendly love

I'm trying to avoid getting some work done.
