My friend had a similar problem when he was running RH 7 ( i think it was). He
runs a webserver and anyone on the 128.211.216.x subnet couldnt connect any
which way to his box. But after he moved to mandrake again (now running
slackware (again)) the problem seemed to work. Im not sure if that shed any
light on the situation. But its a good question to ask cuz we were wondering
ourselves what was goin on. We checked his IPtables setup and nothing, we
thought it was maybe a poo-doo routing problem, but right after the switch it
seemed to work. So if you have the opportunity, know how, and any other
necessary qualities, try a distro change. I know its not very viable for some,
but its a suggestion.
