Just about any TEXT editor on Linux should work -- vi, joe, jed, and
kde/gnome editors should NOT EVER attempt to execute code in a file. Of
corse, just about any editor on any os should be able to open an
executable without executing it (an executable is not a script).

Since ed is no longer a 'standard' editor on unix, I have to deal with vi
and jed... Jed is really quick to learn (and much better than emacs IMHO),
but as i get used to vi I'm finding I use it more and more.

PLEASE NO EDITOR FLAME WARS.

Thank you for your patience.
