[PLUG] Mystery of the disappearing Icons

Ok, this is odd... I have no icons on my desktop and don't know why...
It worked fine yesterday... kind of like what happened to my
internet connection... then it quit... everything seems to be in order
under /home/me/.gnome-desktop
Anyone have an Idea of why that would be?
