That's the best option in terms of compatibility, it works even on older
computers.  On modern computers with a modern version of LILO you can add
the "lba32" option in the global section of lilo.conf.  The lilo.conf man
page says the lba32 option is "recommended on all post-1998 systems"
anyway.
