What is your ability level?  What are your needs?  Tough to tell you
what distribution you should use if you don't say what you need it to do.
Overall, I suggest Debian.  Its best for intermediate to advanced users,
plus nothing beats it as far as package management.  I find that debian
allows me to create a very customized system for myself.  I install the
base system and then add only the packages and other software that I
want.  No extra garbage taking up space :)
