You can put all those fonts into their own directory somewhere and then add
that directory to the xfs config file. On my RH7 system the xfs
config file is /etc/X11/fs/config. Not sure if it is always in that exact
location in every distro. There will be a section in the config file labeled
catalogue, which already has the paths to the other fonts that X is using. Just
add your new path to the TT fonts, save the file, restart xfs, and the fonts
will be available to whatever apps know how to use them.
