[PLUG] Help w/ sound (Mandrake)

Hello,
I'm a newbie and just got my first linux (Mandrake 8.1) installed
yesterday in the Installfest.
After I went home and tried to run it, I didn't get any sound coming out
from my speaker. My speaker works fine because I try to play some music
from Windows.

I think mandrake didn't recognize my soundcard properly because I
couldn't hear any sound when I played mp3 using xmms.
I have a Intel810 mother board with integrated Yamaha AC-XG soundcard,
but in my control center, linux recognizes it as Intel AC-97 card or
something like that..
I have alsa 5.11 in my box.

How do fix this? I tried to go to Intel and Yamaha website to look for
any driver for linux and couldn't find any.
